Within a maintenance contract Hades Fire Protection carry out 3 hour emergency lighting tests in accordance with BS5266-1:2016 and will provide a free quotation to replace any fails. We can also fit new Emergency Lights.
Monthly tests: Also known as 'flick tests', these tests simulate a power outage by turning off the power and checking that the lights turn on and stay on. This helps identify issues early, and can be done by the owner/tenant of the building.
Annual tests: A full 3 hour test should be carried out at least once a year to check that the lights work for the required duration and to check whether any back up batteries need replacing. This test also includes a visual inspection of the lights for signs of damage.
All test results and repairs should be recorded in a log book.
Emergency lighting is usually powered by rechargeable batteries that are charged by the mains power. The lights can be either constantly on (maintained) or triggered by a power outage (non-maintained)
